My Family
I began sewing after my youngest daughter had open-heart surgery when she was 4 months old. After surgery, her immune system was compromised, and it was very important to me to keep her safe and as healthy as possible. I began looking for a way to protect her from germs and bacteria found on shopping carts and other public places & after shopping around became very discouraged. The prices of boutique covers were VERY high and the fabric choices & functionality of manufactured covers was lacking. So... I decided to sew my own!
After making a few for friends and receiving a lot of encouragement, Doodle-Bugz Boutique was born! I also have to mention that none of this would have been possible without the loving support and encouragement of my mom. She has been my biggest fan from day one!
I am very blessed to be married to the man of my dreams. Kevin has continually supported me in this adventure and I will always be grateful for his love and confidence in what I can achieve. Together we have 3 children, Parker (10), Rain (6) and Maya (3). They continue to be my creative inspiration.

The Name
The name Doodle-Bugz comes from a nickname for Maya, my youngest daughter. My mom calls her "Doodlebug" and it was also her Great-Grandmother's nickname when she was a little girl.
